The Creation of Flourishing Families
On November 12, 2010, Flourishing Families was founded by Calendra Blanks and Canadra Jenkins, who shared a vision to address the rising homelessness rate, which had surged by over thirteen percent in the Clarksville community since 2000. Committed to making a lasting impact, the founders established a strategic plan on November 26, 2010, upon joining forces with the Chamber of Commerce, laying the groundwork for the organization’s mission. In May 2011, Flourishing Families attained 501(c)(3) status, enhancing its capacity to serve the community and extend vital support to those in need.
